Oversee the Project Workflow

The job responsibility of a Junior Civil Engineer also involves the management of the progress of the project elements. They are required to visit the construction sites to take measurements, gather data, and address questions of the contractor on behalf of the supervising civil engineer. Basically, they serve as a point of contact between the engineering team and construction workers. They are also responsible to create project schedules and deadlines under the supervision of the lead engineers.

Inspection of Construction Sites

One of the major responsibilities of the Junior Civil Engineer is to visit the construction sites to track the progress and to inspect whether the project is completed as per the construction codes and specifications. Basically, they prepare a report on the conditions of sites, delays or issues on the construction sites, the progress of the project, etc and submit the report to the senior civil engineer.

Preparing Cost Estimates

Junior Engineer is responsible to develop cost estimates for materials, labour, types of equipment, etc to determine the economic feasibility of the project plan. They work closely with the lead civil engineer in reviewing the bids and examining costs to get the s for the materials and equipment of the project as per the budget.
