- Maintains established departmental policies & procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Takes corrective action in the event of violations.
- Prepares and oversees work schedules; assigns personnel to patients based on the acuteness of patient care needs and staff availability.
- Evaluate work performance and make recommendations for personnel actions.
- Directs maintenance of departmental facilities, equipment, supplies and materials to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patients and staff.
- Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with Hospital standards.
- Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
- Periodically reviews department’s policies and procedures, updates and amends with current information.
- Ensures accurate maintenance of patients’ medical records and confidentiality of information contained therein.
- Maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc.
- Prepares quarterly report of all assigned activities.
- Identifies and reports to the Nursing Director, areas of nursing care delivery that requires in-service education and initiates action to correct the problem.
