THE OPPORTUNITY
Talentry is seeking highly skilled Director of Bioinformatics to lead our Drug Discovery Informatics efforts and manage all automation, and database technology focused on the research of small molecule drugs and therapeutic targets.
WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
Develop and apply new bioinformatics methods to solve the needs and challenges specific to developing therapeutic drugs.
Mine relevant publicly available and commercial data resources.
Contribute to scientific and strategy discussions to advance and enhance the scientific platform and product candidates.
Analyze, interpret & clearly communicate findings internally and externally, working with cross-functional teams.
Participate in the development of new software tools to process and analyze screening data.
Build and implement machine learning, statistical and mathematical models for specific research and development use cases.
Enhance data creation procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems.
Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis.
Produce dynamic data driven analytic solutions to support company goals.
Drive the collection of new data sources and the refinement of existing data to support program advancement.
Ph.D. in a related field with at least 8-15 years experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or research organizations with relevant experience in the field of bioinformatics.
A strong background of previous experience working with both structure and unstructured data.
Experience in analyzing external and internal datasets (external and internal) to derive patient responder hypotheses, preferably that have been tested in the clinic.
Relevant experience in the discovery of target engagement and predictive biomarkers, especially in the area of oncology
Small molecule discovery experience preferred.
Ability to interact closely with colleagues in translational research and pharmacology.
Proven experience with R and/or python.
Experience with bioinformatics analyses, including genomics, transcriptomics, microarray analysis, and NGS is preferred.
Demonstrated ability in problem solving and organization.
Experience with genomics / computational biology data analysis is required.
Solid communication and reporting skills.
Ability to effectively collaborate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Experience in scientific writing and working with molecular diagnostics strongly preferred.
Experience integrating and implementing digital systems (e.g., LIMS, data management, electronic lab notebook, etc.) and familiarity with pharmaceutical data structure
