Fabricator Fitter

Job Summary and Purpose

Responsible for fabrication & fitting assignment specifications & requirements. To complete assigned tasks given in a productive & safe manner. This is an industrial worker job; all work is executed to a high quality & auditable standard that is consistent with the companies integrated management systems (IMS) & policies.

Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities:

1. Execute welding repair, fabrication, and design. Prepare fabricated metal structures using blueprints and sketches. Weld repair and/or replace a variety of equipment, tools and structures.
2. Inspect systems to ensure safety and effectiveness of installations, and check gauges and metering devices for measurement accuracy of pressure and flowage.
3. Demonstrate work behaviors consistent with company values and work within company policies, standards, procedures and any legislative requirements.
4. Reduce production variability through minimizing re-work and optimize cost as necessary.
5. Fulfill all obligations directly related to working safely while adhering to company safety polices & procedures.
6. Establish site visits to prepare the drawings for repair and new build of systems.
7. Prepare and generate the “Approved for Construction” or “As Built Drawing” as per the site visit or owner specifications for the on-time completion of repair, fabrication or installation works.
8. Prepare & issue the Process Control Sheet for the material traceability.
9. Isometric Drawing, Instrumentation Diagram & General Arrangement Drawing Interpretation Skill.
10. Closely monitor the fabrication activities to avoid any failure in the fit-up/welding.
11. Work individually as the quality boss (if nominated in a quality control role)
12. Closely monitor & Identify any discrepancies during fit-up & welding to avoid the rework and delay in the fabrication process.
13. Material handling, movement and coordination of systems and their components between workshops. Including ensuring loads are secure and lifted according to yard safety standards.

Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary.
