The Community you will join:

The Cilium team is a distributed group of subject matter experts in Kubernetes, Cloud Native technologies, networking, eBPF and Linux Kernel development.

About this role:

As an integral member of the Cilium team, you will be at the forefront of innovation, contributing to the development of high-performance eBPF code for our open source projects—Cilium, Hubble, and Tetragon. Embrace the opportunity to shape the future of Kubernetes, Cloud Native technologies, networking, and Linux Kernel development. Your expertise in eBPF, Linux Kernel development, and cloud-native technologies will be instrumental in driving innovation and delivering cutting-edge solutions to our global community of users.

A typical day:

  • Developing high-quality eBPF code for the Cilium, Hubble & Tetragon open source projects while following open source development principles and best practices.
  • Linux Kernel upstream development
  • Active participation in the open-source community
  • Possibility to speak at public conferences about achievements (if desired)

Job Requirements

Your Expertise:

  • Computer Science degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Multiple years of experience with C and eBPF knowledge. GO knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge about Linux systems design and either security or networking.
  • Desire to write high quality and efficient code.
  • A public track record of open source code commits is a plus.
  • Experience in public speaking at technical open source conferences is a plus.
