Drone Operator

Reporting to the Director of Photography, the Drone Operator will work across a range of prerecorded and live television programs. He/she will be responsible for operating Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and producing aerial shots under the instructions of the Executive producer, senior producers DOP and producers.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Work either solo or as part of a production crew.
• Professional and creative ability to operate all drone cameras.
• Assist in operation of broadcast video cameras to the highest industry standards
• Support the completion of field work in accordance with the producers, directors or DOP instructions.
• Complete all work safety and within guidelines.
• Examine and maintain all the drones prior to each flight
• Able to understand online/offline maps, charts, drawings surveys and utilize the information to understand surroundings, potential hazards, position safe takeoff/landing sites, and create safe flight plans quickly and accurately.
• Clean all drones and equipment upon return to main office at the end of each flight day .
• Maintain daily crew flight and inspection activity logs.
• Follow all broadcast safety policies.
• Perform additional duties that fall outside your job title or key duties.
