Job Overview

Booking Holdings and the Booking.com Trips business unit are looking for an experienced technology leader to establish a product and technology site for Trips in Bangalore, India to support the long term operational and product engineering capability to deliver on Trips Business Unit priorities including Data Platform and Flights strategic priorities.

The Trips business unit powers ‘Everything but the Stay’ and includes Cars, Flights, Taxi, Talent will be the key to our success and a global sourcing strategy, of which Bangalore will be a key part, is a core pillar of our plan. This role is the interface/accountable point of contact to the Trips extended leadership team, and has two key responsibilities

• Vertical Data Engineering Leadership - responsible for data engineering and delivery of data technology solutions that are critical to the strategic priorities of Booking.com. In this role, they work with the Director of Trips Data to deliver the engineering capability required to modernize our legacy data platforms
• Horizontal operational leadership - responsible for setting up a product and technology site in Bangalore for Trips Business Unit, India that currently supports both the Data and Flights teams of Trips. This includes establishing Booking as an attractive employer in the Bangalore market, building high performance teams, safeguarding Booking culture, and enabling leaders across the world to effectively manage and develop their teams in Bangalore.

People & Function Leadership

• Lead, inspire and motivate your function through leading by example and setting expectations around what success looks like, giving ownership and providing clarity when necessary
• Ensure timely, high availability of quality data to understand and manage our business performance and improve the experience of our customers. hat data pipelines incorporate privacy and security elements
• Measure success KPIs and report on tracks and team performance and business impact
• Be an expert in managing stakeholders across the different departments and the Booking.com Leadership Team.
• Communicate strategy in a compelling manner to multiple teams and relevant stakeholders.
• Build a strong leadership team, by coaching and developing Senior Software Engineering Managers, Data Managers and Principals.
• Recruit, retain and grow world-class talent in DataManagement, Software Engineering, Data Engineering and Machine Learning Science
• Foster inclusion by holding self and others accountable
