- Developing marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and generate sales
- Communicating with suppliers to ensure they can provide the products requested in a timely fashion
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends in fashion, lifestyle, and other areas that could influence buying decisions
- Interviewing candidates for open positions within the company, including managers, merchandisers, and sales associates
- Collaborating with the design team to create new products that appeal to current trends
- Reviewing retail websites for competitor pricing and product availability to identify opportunities for improvement in website design or merchandising choices
- Creating and implementing merchandising strategies for specific brands or departments within stores or online marketplaces
- Developing seasonal catalogs, brochures, flyers, and other promotional materials to advertise new merchandise offerings
- Identifying new opportunities for growth in existing markets or developing new markets for the company’s products
