Our client is a lending microfinance based in Kenya. They seek to hire a highly motivated business development manager who will be responsible for developing operations strategies and enhancing business growth. The successful incumbent will ensure profitable operations in the money lending sector, branch network management, product development, marketing, customer experience, policy development, and ensure compliance with internal controls.
Scope of Responsibility
Your overall terms of reference shall be as follows:
Business growth
Client onboarding for purposes of offering unique products and world class services that meet the client s specific financial needs.
Robustly grow quality loan books and various incomes according to set targets.
Growth of product holding per client in order to maximize the Company s share of client s wallet.
Develop a healthy client base and business network which shall assure him or her of continuous business generation for both new and repeat business.
Constantly engage clients in order to enlighten them on new products and services being offered by the Company.
Identify opportunities and areas for growth within Nairobi County and its environs.
Prepare and analyze marketing reports for management as per established KPI S
Training business developers and sales colleagues
Pursuing leads and moving them through the sales cycle
Customer Relationship Management
Delight clients by efficiently offering services, responding to client queries and feedback within the Company s stipulated SLA and TAT.
Offer appropriate financial solutions to clients business needs and challenges while taking care of the interests of the Company.
Business Support
Prepare and submit client reports to management as may be required from time to time.
Sound understanding of the local market and sharing this information with colleagues.
Work with other team members to source for new business
Participate in organized customer forums for both feedback and training on the Company s products and services
Marketing
Coordinate sales and marketing efforts to boost brand awareness.
To place products and services in front of the target audience and drive traffic and sales.
Identify opportunities to reach new market segments and expand market share.
Provide advice on branding, positioning, communication and other marketing issues.
Competencies & Skills
Ability to critically analyze financial data
Self-starter with good organizational skills
Knowledge of financial and lending sector operations, products, processes, and regulations
Excellent judgment and fact-based decision-making abilities
Ability to maintain composure under high-pressure situations and deliver results in a timely manner
Strong interpersonal skills
Should possess 5+ years of experience in Business Development in MFI institutions.
Should possess experience in MFI (microfinance & Insurance)
Should possess a degree in Business Management, B Com or Relevant field from a reputable university, Masters is an added advantage.
Professional qualification in Marketing such as CIM desirable
Relevant training and qualification in lending process especially to SME/Retail by a reputable firm
