Job Description

Job Purpose:

Being responsible of providing the actuarial support to the underwriting team, in charge of product development, performing actuarial studies on pricing and reserving relating to the Life and Health line.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Pricing business emanating from the markets in cooperation with the underwriters
  • Performing actuarial / mathematical studies for updating the pricing basis
  • Adjusting the pricing methodology as required
  • Setting up and updating the pricing tools as required
  • Taking lead in product Development
  • Reviewing and updating the pricing guidelines for the various markets
  • Reporting activity to the Senior Underwriter (Life) periodically
  • Conducting Business profitability analysis
  • Participating in the renewal processes of the portfolio
  • Organizing seminars and training for clients whenever required
  • Taking charge of the continuous development and the deployment of our internal or online pricing tools.

Experience & Qualification:

  • BSc degree or MSc degree in actuarial science or in applied mathematics or Econometrics
  • Fellow of the society of Actuaries (SOA) or equally recognized institutes or in the process of being qualified.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in (Re)insurance (pricing, technical, products) within the Life and Health.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong command of English and preferably another language
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong command of MS/Words/Excel/PowerPoint and MS/Access, MATLAB, SPSS/SAS, C++, VBA or similar.
