Job Description

Role Summary

This position is responsible for assisting the department head with the overall management, organization, storage, and distribution of finished goods, coordinating inbound shipments, and ensuring smooth workflow of operations across packing, finished goods storage, transportation, and customer service teams.

Role Description

  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with external agencies and suppliers in order to support the smooth provision of logistics services across the organization.
  • Customs Clearance Management: Manage and execute customs clearance processes for imported and exported goods.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant customs laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Prepare and submit the necessary documentation to customs authorities.
  • Prepare, review, and verify shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all required documentation for customs clearance.
  • Compliance: Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and trade compliance laws.
  • Advise internal teams on compliance requirements and potential impacts on shipments.
  • Coordination: Liaise with customs authorities, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Communicate with internal teams to ensure alignment on shipping and customs clearance requirements.
  • Resolution: Address and resolve customs-related issues, including customs holds, inspections, and inquiries.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve clearance delays or discrepancies. accurate records of all customs clearance activities and documentation.
  • Generate reports as needed for management review and audit purposes.
  • Prepare management information reports in order to ensure that the management has the relevant information needed to support strategic decision- making.
  • Personally resolve critical logistics problems in order to ensure contractual commitments are met and any operational impact is minimized.
  • Responsible for multiple customer accounts. It will include the management and improvement of services provided to customers, as well as the development and implementation of 3rd part logistics performance measurements.
  • Implementing health and safety procedures at all times

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in business administration, Logistics or Supply Chain
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in freight negotiation with freight forwarders for imports and exports.
  • Expert knowledge in Export Documentation
  • Well versed in Import and Export Clearance, Custom Duty Refund claims process
  • Proven working experience as a Assistant Logistics Manager
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff
  • Proficient in standard logistics software – ERP systems
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
  • Able to communicate well with all levels within the organization
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Sets, maintains, and demonstrates high standards of work ethics and behaviour
