AS400 Developer - India

Job Description

We are looking for an AS400 with Iseries resource with 5+yrs of experience from India remote. This requirement is short term for 3 weeks only starting immediately.

Essential Duties and Key Accountabilities:

• Serves as a key contributor applying computer system analysis, design, develop, test, and implement integrated software solutions to meet business needs
• Determine the capabilities and feature functions of new and installed packaged software
• Test all programs implemented, using automated tests wherever possible
• Use best practices for versioning and source control
• Follow the change control process, and implements solutions (go live) without unscheduled disruptions to existing operations
• Partner with IT Application Teams to improve business and IT tools and processes that offer improved efficiencies to the business
• Ensure data and system security is maintained while interacting with third parties
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned
  

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

• Ability to complete all phases of software development life cycle including analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and support with minimal assistance
• Writes applications that are legible, secure, maintainable, and well tested
• Experience in multiple software development languages
• Strong knowledge and experience with AS400 administration and AS400 iSeries development using RPGILE,CL,CLLE,DB400, SQLRPGILE
• Experience in developing and implementing systems interfaces, leveraging techniques such as SFTP, ESB, API integrations
• Experience in patch management -OS patches and upgrades; capacity expansion of managed servers-Disk/memory/CPU
• Experience working with source control in a multi-contributor environment (Git, Mercurial, SVN, etc.), including understanding how to effectively utilize established workflows
• Excellent analytical, planning and organization/time management skills
• Good communication skills – written, verbal, interpersonal, and collaborative
• Experience required in a multi-discipline project and troubleshooting environment
