The primary duty of the Recreational Counselor is to teach students according to the established recreational program of LeafSpring School. Oversees planned activities, curriculum, materials, management, and general supervision of an assigned group. Responsible for assisting in the daily supervision and management of a group of ten to fifteen children between the ages of five and thirteen.

$15.00-$18.00 per hour

1:30p- 6:00p

Oversees planned activities, curriculum, materials, management, and general supervision of an assigned group. Responsible for assisting in the daily supervision and management of a group of ten to fifteen children between the ages of five and thirteen.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with the daily recreation program's planning, implementation, and supervision in accordance with the philosophy LeafSpring School.
- Assists in directing the activities of Recreational Assistants, Recreational Aides, and volunteers, providing guidance as needed.
- In the absence of the Administrator, assumes the supervisory role as requested, ensuring that all aspects of the program function as per LeafSpring School brand policies.
- Incorporates age-appropriate child growth and development principles and developmentally appropriate practice in implementing daily activity plans.
- Assists in evaluating the quality of program components as assigned and executes plans for improvement as needed.
- Appropriately modifies activities to meet the needs of each child’s interests, challenges, special talents, individual style, and pace of learning.
- Maintains awareness of each child’s health status.
- Demonstrates correct principles of infection control, universal precautions, and OSHA.
- Maint a safe, orderly, attractive, and clean learning environment.
- Encourages and demonstrates sound health and nutritional practices.
- Assists in planning, developing and implementing recreationally based and developmentally appropriate field trips and in-house experiences, as requested.
- Assists with the planning, implementing and achieving program goals.
- Maintains compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and LeafSpring School brand policies.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- At least one (1) year of experience
- Must possess a love for children and an ability to relate well with them, their families, and teachers.
- Must have technology competency as it relates to the responsibilities of the position.
- Must be CPR and First Aid certified or obtain certification within six months of employment
- Must be able to lift a minimum of up to 50 lbs.
$15.00-$18.00 per hour
