One of our prestigious clients in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is looking to hire Procurement & Contracts Lead who will be responsible for but not limited to:

Job Overview

We are seeking a proficient Procurement and Contracts Lead to oversee all procurement activities and contract management within our shipbuilding organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills a deep understanding of procurement processes and extensive experience in contract management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the procurement process from sourcing to contract award ensuring timely acquisition of materials equipment and services required for shipbuilding projects. Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs and quality.
  • Manage all aspects of contract administration including drafting reviewing and negotiating contracts with suppliers subcontractors and service providers. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and mitigate contractual risks.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or concerns that may arise during the procurement process.
  • Act as a mentor to trainees in the procurement and contracts department providing guidance support and technical expertise to facilitate their growth and development. Document trainee progress and provide feedback to aid in their professional advancement.
  • Utilize your certification as an assessor or readiness to obtain one to assess and certify procurement processes and personnel as per organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Leverage your experience working at prominent shipbuilding organizations to introduce and implement best practices in procurement and contract management. Share knowledge and insights to enhance efficiency transparency and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with top classification society standards and requirements such as IACS ABS BV DNV LR RINA etc. throughout the procurement and contracting process. Maintain accurate documentation to demonstrate compliance.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including engineering finance legal and project management to align procurement and contracting activities with project objectives and timelines.
  • Manage procurement budgets effectively tracking expenditures identifying costsaving opportunities and providing regular reports to management on procurement performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred with additional certifications or training in procurement and contract management being advantageous.
  • Proficient English communication skills with a minimum IELTS band score of 7 or equivalent essential for mentoring trainees and documenting their progress.
  • Documented history of being a certified assessor or eligibility to become one demonstrating the ability to assess and certify procurement processes and personnel.
  • Proven track record of working at prominent shipbuilding organizations with significant experience in procurement and contract management roles. Bring along best practices and behaviors to enhance operations.
  • Demonstrated experience working on projects adhering to top classification society standards/requirements such as IACS ABS BV DNV LR RINA etc.
