As Creative Design Manager you will be responsible for developing cohesive and impactful design solutions that enhances the customer experience and creatively strengthen Qatar Airways brand image. These shall cover areas such as cabin interiors uniforms look and feel lounges onboard dining and amenities user interfaces. Your role shall encompass the requirement to personally create design briefs product and execute design solutions whilst also collaborate with internal and external design agencies/suppliers and partners.

You shall demonstrate multidisciplinary skillset that covers both packaging branding interiors textiles and product/industrial design.

You will work with crossfunctional teams key stakeholders within the airline and suppliers to understand the requirements and convert these to effective design solutions.

Other key responsibilities are:

  • Creating cohesive and impactful design aesthetic designs required as per project requirements based on departmental and HOD directives.
  • Understand and evaluate critical operational impacts and functionality of the product to develop product specification and design brief documents.
  • Use cultural insights operational data and stakeholder feedback to develop viable design solutions
  • Assess budgetary allocations on projects handled
  • Manage dedicated design project developments from conception to completion with mandatory product testing phases with the user departments prior to implementation. This includes but is not limited to; Cabin interiors uniforms look and feel lounges onboard dining and amenities user interfaces etc.
  • Manage special project plans and create best practice design processes to ensure cohesive and sound work practices that drives creativity whilst minimising development and production cost including responsibility for the final quality of creative work seeking approvals from relevant departments prior to rollout of the developed product.
  • Work with assigned designer allocated by Line Manager on project basis
  • Ensure positive collaboration to smooth out production hurdles by staying in close contact with internal clients teams.
  • Develop product specifications for special projects to verify that the development during preproduction is at as per defined quality.
  • Support and the design team as needed in the evaluation and testing of products in order to assess product feasibility and practicality.
  • Support in tender document preparation by reviewing verifying and updating the specifications and other relevant documents
  • Conducts necessary cost analysis and / or business case based on design proposals as needed
  • Conduct all the necessary quality check on final artwork before release to suppliers
  • Able to do design / other relevant work task as needed to support operations
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department

Qualifications

About You

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join the Product Development and Design Team.

Essential:

  • Minimum qualification of bachelors degree or equivalent is essential.
  • 7 years of design of Product Development or similar field with emphasis on Customer Services within Product or Service development.
  • Advanced ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

Preferred Airline / cabin interior design experience
