Veritas Careers are recruiting for a Care Home Group who have a requirement for a Financial Manager to join their business.

Newcastle based, but with regular visits to the care homes in the surrounding area, the position will initially be part time, permanent, for 2 days per week. There can be flexibility on days and times between Monday to Friday 9am 5.30pm.
  • Preparation and support in the production and presentation of monthly management accounts including journals, reconciliations, variance analysis and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting in the production and delivery of the monthly management information pack
  • Assisting with the budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Ad-hoc project work and financial analysis as required
  • You will be responsible for the efforts and results of the finance department.
  • You ll lead a small team who will support you in the production of management accounts, financial reporting and cash flow management.
  • You will take the lead in identifying, developing and implementing finance controls to strengthen and protect the business as it grows, whilst working with department heads to drive operational efficiencies.
  • As well as managing the accounts team to ensure the smooth and timely processing of all payments and transactions, you will work towards internal KPIs in relation to month end and quarter end accounting and reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance with all company and regulatory policies and procedures.


Requirements

  • Ideally you will have experience in the care sector in a similar role, i.e. Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Management Accountant, Accounts Manager
  • Have experience in managing a small finance team
  • Have sound technical understanding from completing the ACA, ACCA or CIMA accounting qualification and have a good technical accounting knowledge.
  • Have a strong analytical skillset to interpret financial data, alongside the communication skills to articulate this information to key stakeholders.
  • You will ideally have a background in the care sector, but, more importantly, credible experience of owning all month-end/quarter-end processes including maintaining the integrity of the Balance Sheet.
  • Advanced Excel skills for reporting purposes.
