Job Description
Job Purpose: The Expert Technician ensures optimal deployability of vehicles and installations for the customer and advises the supervisor for the correct operational decision making.   Key tasks: 1.       Troubelshooting•         Able to solve complex problems independently (knows where to find the information);•         Use network to solve a problem; 2.       Maintenance of the vehicles•         Performing maintenance work independently, whether or not according to prescribed inspection and maintenance manuals;•         Report and discuss with the supervisor damage and work that does no belong to the prescribed work or if these must be remedied immediately;•         Carry out quality checks to a high standard;•         Actively participating in TCR’s OHS process by understanding and complying with the OHS policy, OHS procedures and requirements; participating by reporting unsafe situations, near misses and improvement ideas. 3.       Mentoring junior technicians•         Ability to mentor and train junior technicians and new members of staff, as part of new starter process or training requirements on the shop floor;•         Give constructive feedback concerning the way of working;•         Take initiative to coach colleagues in order to work according to procedures, in a safe and qualitative way;•         Ability to communicate to the point;•         Mentoring junior technicians. 4.       Participation in meetings for the purpose of coordinating and evaluating activities:•         Passing on information about the work status package for the execution of the current/coming day;•         Sharing of general and technical knowledge gained during work activities. 5.       Administrative support•         Description of the work;•         Scanning of the parts on job order(s) for the vehicle data system (ELC);•         The replenishment and administrative processing of used parts in the workshop;•         Completely filling in inspection lists.  Competencies (Knowledge and skills) required for successful performance •         At least 4 years of proficient knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical, air pressure, aircon/refrigeration units and electrical systems, dependent on site•         Ability to independently read electrical and hydraulic diagrams and thereby perform a malfunction analysis•         Customer-oriented: understanding the customers’ expectations and understand how best to deliver in order to meet those expectations.•         Result-oriented•         Ability to make complex decisions whilst under pressure•         Strong in communication – both oral and written•         Drive for excellence•         Solution driven•         Act as a role model for juniors•         Hands-on mentality•         No 9 to 5 mentality•         A real team player•         Demonstrates continuing commitment to achieving a QAHSE friendly working environment by seeking out and attending additional safety education classes over and above those required•         Good MS Office 365 skills•         Fluent in English – both oral and written, Spanish is a plus
