Time Out Riyadh is looking for a brilliant Arabic-speaking Editor with multi-platform experience to oversee its Arabic-language digital and print products in the Saudi capital.

You must have demonstrable experience overseeing a digital media platform and demonstrable experience of growing web and social audiences.

The ideal candidate will be ready to dive straight into managing a small team in an exciting, fast-paced environment, in an ambitious, constantly evolving city.

You should be excited by the idea of unearthing, experiencing and showcasing the very best food, lifestyle and cultural experiences Riyadh and the surrounding area have to offer. The ideal candidate has a strong digital background, with a track record of growing an engaged audience across websites and social.

They should also possess a keen eye for what makes a great story, from unearthing longstanding hidden gems with fascinating little-known histories to landing Time Out Riyadh major exclusives on everything from new launches to big concert announcements.

Fluency in spoken English is essential to the role and its collaboration with the English-language Riyadh team.



Requirements

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall production, execution and management of Time Out Riyadh s Arabic language media across digital, print, video and social products and platforms.
  • Editing, proofing and publishing Time Out Riyadh s daily digital content, ensuring stories are on brand, on time and contribute to daily content quotas and audience targets. Ready to get hands-on, writing content and breaking news as required.
  • Collaborating with Time Out Riyadh s English language Editor and team, making sure brands and content are aligned.
  • Research and analyse content and search trends in Time Out Riyadh s verticals, using those insights to plan, create and optimise content published to our website and social platforms.
  • Meeting web traffic and print circulation goals, and continuously drive the growth of Time Out Riyadh s audience.
  • Leading the ideation and development of creative front covers across Time Out Riyadh s stable of monthly and seasonal print products.
  • Setting content strategy and running an editorial calendar across digital, print, video, audio and social.
  • Motivate a team and work with other Editors within the Time Out GCC Group to make sure goals and projects are aligned, and maintain a strong working relationship with the commercial team.
  • Oversee Time Out s annual Awards processes and monthly calendar of events in your city.
  • Work with Time Out GCC s Group Editor for Arabic brands and Editorial Director to ensure ALL content reflects overall content / editorial strategy of the Group.
  • Ensure Time Out GCC s editorial standards are met, all relevant copyrights have been cleared, content is optimised for SEO and content meets local and legal guidelines.
  • Support the Editorial Director and sales team by being an ambassador for Time Out in Saudi Arabia, by supporting and helping to develop revenue-generating content strategies and establishing good relationships PRs, regularly attending events in Riyadh, and around Saudi as required.
  • Have your finger on the pulse of the local scene; use your professional contacts and social-media networks to be the first to identify the next big thing.
  • Undertake reviews and attend events outside of office hours.
  • Embrace Time Out GCC s digital-first philosophy. A strong background in digital publishing is absolutely essential.
