DESIGN MANAGER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop creative programme and design concepts that meet the business objectives of the organization.

Lead the projects team to deliver the projects tasks within the program with the highest possible quality and creativity. Operational Responsibilities

Work under own initiative and direction as part of a multi-skilled team

Apply your vision to designing a variety of built spaces and landscapes

Co-ordinate the team to effectively manage the delivery of the design projects

Develop design plans in response to technical problems posed by a projects scope

Provide project or task management to develop urban design and planning concepts and translate them into clear and compelling graphic images

Prepare design briefs, scope of work, RFP documents for the planning team

Work closely with the development department to ensure that developed plans are both financially and technically feasible People Responsibilities

Lead the team responsibly and proficiently, providing effective line management to direct reports

Set objectives and evaluate the performance of individual direct reports and actively manage key personnel issues

Mentor the team about their working style, professional expertise and quality of project execution Ensure that all staff acquire the required skills and knowledge through appropriate learning and development programmes Embed culture and values by role modelling organisational behaviours through excellence, performance management, feedback and coaching

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

10+ years experience in architecture/Interior design as well as:

BA in Architecture or Interior design

Able to use AutoCAD, Photoshop, Adobe Design, Microsoft suite of products

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

Able to work on complex projects prone to change

Willingness to present to groups at all levels

Experience in interaction with clients re. proposals, negotiation, budgets and client

presentations

Keen interest in design and the built environment

Good technical and artistic skills

Excellent attention to detail

Previous experience of successfully managing small teams

Excellent design, visualisation and graphic skills
