DESIGN MANAGER - ARCHITECTURAL

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop creative program and design concepts that meet the business objectives of the organization.
• Lead the projects team to deliver the projects tasks within the program with the highest possible quality and creativity
• Work under own initiative and direction as part of a multi-skilled team
• Apply your vision to designing a variety of built spaces and landscapes
• Co-ordinate the team to effectively manage the delivery of the design projects
• Develop design plans in response to technical problems posed by a projects scope
• Provide project or task management to develop urban design and planning concepts and translate them into clear and compelling graphic images
• Prepare design briefs, scope of work, RFP documents for the planning team
• Work closely with the development department to ensure that developed plans are both financially and technically feasible People Responsibilities
• Lead the team responsibly and proficiently, providing effective line management to direct reports
• Set objectives and evaluate the performance of individual direct reports and actively manage key personnel issues
• Mentor the team about their working style, professional expertise, and quality of project execution
• Ensure that all staff acquire the required skills and knowledge through appropriate learning and development programs
• Embed culture and values by role modelling organizational behaviors through excellence, performance management, feedback and coaching.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

• 10+ years experience in architecture/Interior design as well as:
• BA in Architecture or Interior design
• Able to use AutoCAD, Photoshop, Adobe Design, Microsoft suite of products

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

• Able to work on complex projects prone to change
• Willingness to present to groups at all levels
• Experience in interaction with clients re. proposals, negotiation, budgets, and clientpresentations
• Keen interest in design and the built environment
• Good technical and artistic skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Previous experience of successfully managing small teams
• Excellent design, visualization, and graphic skills
