Job Description

a) Coordinate the exchange of all information pertaining to the safe transportation of Dangerous Goods between authority and Salam Air s staff in his or her area of responsibility.

b) Coordinating the initial submission and further amendments to the authority of any dangerous goods segment of operation manuals and/or other appropriate manuals.

c) Ensuring all other relevant documents contain information, instructions, or references thereto on dangerous goods, and that there are procedures in place to ensure the safe handling of dangerous goods at all the stages of air transport.

d) Ensuring personnel are provided such information in the operations manual and/or other appropriate manuals as will enable them to carry out their responsibilities with regard to the safe transport of dangerous goods, including the actions to be taken in the event of emergencies involving dangerous goods.

e) Ensuring all handling agents are provided such information in the Ground Operations Manual and/or other appropriate manuals as will enable them to carry out their responsibilities on behalf of SalamAir with regard to the safe transport of dangerous goods, including the actions to be taken in the event of emergencies involving dangerous goods.

f) Ensuring that information is promulgated as required by regulations so that passengers are warned about the types of goods they are forbidden from transporting aboard the aircraft and notices are provided at acceptance points for cargo giving information about the transport of dangerous goods.

g) Ensuring that SalamAir s notification to the pilot-in-command (NOTOC) documentation and retention meets the requirements of the regulation.

h) Ensuring that all staff who require dangerous goods training receive recurrent training at up to two years intervals.

i) Ensuring that records of dangerous goods training are maintained for all staff as required by the regulations.

j) Ensure that the contracted handling agent s staff are trained.

k) Ensuring that a dangerous goods incident and accident report is made to the Authority and the appropriate Authority in the State where the accident or incident occurred in accordance with the regulations within 72 hours of the event unless exceptional circumstances prevent this and include the details that are known at that time.

l) Ensuring that in the event of finding undeclared or is-declared dangerous goods discovered in cargo or passengers baggage, a report is made to the Authority and the appropriate Authority in the State where the event occurred in accordance with the regulations.

m) Coordinate and collaborate with the Authority on investigating Dangerous Goods incidents and accidents.

n) Conduct of Dangerous Goods Initial and Refresher training to SalamAir Crew members and Ground Staff in accordance with the approved training syllabus;

o) Responsible for production and amendments of the Dangerous Goods training syllabus and associated lesson plans, visual aids, CBT courseware, and examinations.

p) Assist in the production and amendment of the Dangerous Goods Manual.

q) Any other responsibilities assigned by the line manager.



Requirements

1) For all categories of dangerous goods, the instructor must hold current certification in DGR CAT 6 and IATA Professional Skills for Dangerous Goods Instructors training.

2) For Category 6 instructors, a minimum of 5 years of working experience in Air cargo operations, with a minimum of 3 years in acceptance, handling, and loading of dangerous goods including providing the NOTOC (Notification to the Captain) to the flight crew of an aircraft.

3) Category 6 Instructor who is not in compliance with requirement 2 above, shall undertake a practical familiarization in acceptance, handling, and loading of dangerous goods including providing the NOTOC (Notification to the Captain) to the flight crew of an aircraft under a senior DGR Category 6 DGR instructor and experienced operations staff. The content and duration of the practical familiarization shall be documented and submitted to CAA for approval.

4) Instructors shall demonstrate Dangerous Goods Regulations adequate technical knowledge in the category/job function related to his/her training responsibilities and instructional skills to CAA officials.

5) The dangerous goods instructors shall undergo a simulated or a practical activity every 3 years in the function related to his/her training responsibilities In addition to the above, prior to the approval, for conducting the competency Based Training and Assessment Dangerous Goods Training, the instructor shall have the
