- Monitoring project budgets to ensure costs are within reasonable limits
- Reviewing plans for design flaws and making recommendations for improvement
- Monitoring the work of engineers to ensure that they are adhering to industry standards and best practices
- Providing technical support to contractors during the construction phase of a project
- Developing project timelines, including phases of implementation, completion dates, and milestones along the way
