Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Creating lesson plans that promote language acquisition while addressing the needs of each student individually
  • Observing students’ progress and communicating with parents to ensure that they are meeting academic goals
  • Providing feedback to teachers and other staff members on how to improve instruction in their classrooms
  • Maintaining appropriate student-teacher ratios in order to provide each student with sufficient attention and opportunities for interaction with peers
  • Teaching classes that include topics such as grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation
  • Designing and implementing activities that encourage students to use ASL in their everyday lives
  • Providing information about deaf culture to students and their families so they can better understand the language and the culture of the Deaf community
  • Preparing materials for each class session such as syllabi and handouts
  • Administering tests to evaluate students’ progress in their knowledge of ASL grammar rules, vocabulary skills, and overall mastery of the language

- Arabic language is necessary
