You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailExperience: +5 EXP Years Designation: Video Editor As a Video Editor or Video Production Editor, you will be responsible for reviewing audio and visual footage and using computer software to organize clips into a cohesive unit. the duties include splitting or combining video clips, adding appropriate sounds or graphics, produce a final film or video product. This is a key role in the post-production process and your skills can determine the quality and delivery of the finished result. ❖ Skills • a keen eye for detail and a critical mind • creativity and a passionate interest in film and video editing • patience and concentration • the ability to listen to others and to work well as part of a team • a high level of self-motivation, commitment, and dedication • organizational and time management skills • the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines • communication skills, both written and oral. ❖ Responsibilities: • receiving a brief, and maybe an outline of footage and/or a shot list, script, or screenplay • assembling all raw footage, with camera shots either recorded or transferred onto video tape in preparation for inputting into the computer • inputting uncut rushes and sound, and synchronizing and storing them into files on the computer • digitally cutting files to put together the sequence of the film and deciding what's usable • creating a 'rough cut' (or assembly edit) of the program/film and determining the exact cutting for the next and final stages • reordering and fine-tuning the content to ensure the logical sequencing and smooth running of the film/video. • overseeing the quality and progress of audio and video engineering and editing • experimenting with styles and techniques including the design of graphic elements • writing voiceover/commentary • suggesting or selecting music • online editing - depending on your role you may also finalize technical aspects such as correcting faulty footage, grading, and coloring, and adding special effects. Think and understand user flows, customer needs, and business needs. • Assembling raw footage and transferring or uploading to a computer • Following a script, screenplay, or outline • Inputting sound to enhance footage, which may include selecting music and writing voice-overs • Inputting graphics to enhance footage • Digitally splicing film and video and synchronizing them into one rough cut file • Improving and correcting lighting, coloring, and faulty footage • Working closely with directors to present a final product that matches his or her vision.
Contract
