How You See Yourself After Five Years” Seems like an easy question, ?No!

This question isn’t designed to measure your mental ability or to travel to the future by the magical time machine to imagine yourself “How will be your position after 5 years?!” Did you think what the importance of this question to you?!

First off, let’s stop and look at the question itself.

Instead of jumping to this question only, you have to know “How to Answer” with answer aligning with the company’s long term goals of the company.

The major reply wrongly by acting as a superman and he is a super hero will exceed all the limits as an example (“I see myself as CEO of the company driving a new sports car and owing too much money !”) is it the expected answer ?! Actually No!

They want someone who is genuinely enthusiastic about the position. The hiring manager is looking for a hire that is also a good investment.

-Try to be specific and consider what you want to be in the future to be a good investment in the work environment and not be a waste of time and money.

    - Make your answer 2 parted: The first part of your answer should focus on the immediate position you are applying for and how you are excited by that opportunity. The second part of your answer deals with your future plans and expectations.

    - Demonstrate your desire for the position based on the fact that you’ve applied and are now interviewing for long term specially if you have short term job experience in your resume, Many employers want to hire someone not planning to quit.

Finally….Take the time to think about this question, Don’t memorize a script, but practice how you will describe your long-term career plans in a way that will be relevant to the interviewer and help you tell your story about why you’re the best person for the job.
