RM &WM Controller_KD/VS/RWC/1804/1

General Summary

To plan, organize and ensure waste & byproducts collection from production, transportation, stacking, and

loading, to facilitate production process and sales & disposal of byproducts and wastes in compliance to

environmental requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Accountabilities)
• Ensures efficient & Safe collection, transportation, segregation and stacking of waste & by-products for
uninterrupted production processes
• Ensures effective disposal of non-hazardous wastes by efficient loading of disposal vehicles.
• Coordinates activities through MH contractor in accordance with contractual obligations.
• Ensures activities conform to the approved IMS procedure.
• Ensures the inventory records By-products are maintained and factual.
• Ensures sectional activities are executed complying to Safety, Environment, occupational health aspects
• Manpower planning and coordination amongst shifts and contractors with thrust on development,
motivation and fostering team spirit
• Coordinates with maintenance to ensure upkeep of equipment and accessories
• Ensures environment requirements such as chemical analysis, Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)
Manifest for hazardous waste are met to facilitate its disposal.
• Promotes recycle/reuse of waste & by-products.
• Ensures discipline is maintained amongst employees and contractors

Communication, leadership, administrative and coordination Skills

• Knowledge of chemistry, Safety and environmental aspects of wastes, byproducts of integrated steel

plant.

• Knowledge of local and applicable international legislations for handling and disposal of hazardous and

non-hazardous wastes

• Awareness & compliance skills of regulatory and integrated management system requirements

• Management of Human resources with focus on involvement, participation, and motivation to build

dedicated team spirit amongst employees.

• Experienced in working in computerized work environment, ability to use SAP systems and prepare MIS

reports

Minimum Education Qualifications (Must Haves) Any preferred professional training (Nice to have)

• Diploma (Full Time course minimum 3 years) in

Chemistry

• Post diploma courses in Environment and

safety management

• Team Building and motivation

Professional Experience (Must haves) Previous Experience/exposure

Recommendations (Nice to have)

• 5 Years in Heavy Industries or Environment

service agencies in supervisory or controller

capacity

• Experience in Managing Environment and

Safety in Industries
