COMMERCIAL MANAGER (30930)

Our client, a shipping company based in Abu Dhabi is looking for a Commercial Manager. Must have experience in Chartering or Ship brokering within the UAE
JOB SCOPE:
To Strategize, Develop and Manage Fleet, Commercial activities, ensuring maximum revenue in a cost-effective manner.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Developing new clients, pursuing projects, and supporting proposals for the hire/employment of vessels for the specific projects.
Take leadership of action based on Projects Plans to pursuit and win Project(s).
Identifying, evaluating, and recommending the prospective new work within the respective market area, including the strategic market development and penetration.
Maintaining relationships with existing clients and developing new Client contracts.
Participating in development of marketing and business plans and strategy implementation.
Establish and maintain customer relationships and strategic taming partner relationships.
Prioritizing the allocation of sale and technical resources to accomplish the objectives of the yearly sales target.
To Strategize & Execute company's foray into Offshore Vessel segment, i.e. AHTS, PSV & OSVs segment.
Develop and recommend on Vessel employment strategies to maximize potential earnings and business targets through the effective Vessel utilization.
Undertake commercial risk analysis, including prudent risk profiling of various trades and make recommendations on the exposure probability to safeguard interests and image.
Keep abreast on the latest market / industry developments on the period charter rates, tonnage supply / demand and competitors movements.
Knowledgeable on Shipping patterns as well as good understanding on Vessels Specifications which facilitates effective matching of available Jobs to tonnage.
Attend promptly to Contracts administration and post fixture matters.
Prepare Commercial Performance Reports periodically on fleet / service performance to compare actual against budget in terms of revenue earned, utilisation of Vessels and costs structures to the Management for informed decision making.
Develop, motivate, coach and train subordinates to achieve high productivity in meeting the Commercial department s goals and objectives.
QHSE RESPONSIBILITIES:
ROLES
Act as an initial contact between the company and charterer party and shall ensure that QHSE requirements of both the parties regarding the proper disposal of all garbage, sewage , dirty oil and other kinds of waste which may generate during the chartering period in the bidding stage itself.
Be a role model in implementing the company Integrated management system to ensure safety, environment and quality requirements are adequately met whilst performing the job responsibilities.
To participate in achieving departmental QHSE objectives.
RESPONSIBILITY
Share the communication interface details of the charterer party with the concerned key personnel of the organization for flawless operation.
Ensure that Master register of documents are updated adequately whenever the amendments are established
Follow the Safety, Environment and Quality related requirements as per the company IMSM.
Take a proactive role rather reactive for implementing the IMSM requirements.
To regularly read safety flashes, bulletins, news and events from web site and ensure its proper implementation.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Collect customer feedbacks, review it, and plan for actions to improve customer relations.
Record all kinds of customer complaints received in the form of verbal, email, memo etc. in the customer complaint log and circulate it to all concerned timely. Do necessary analysis and prepare action plan to rectify the customer compliant.
Conduct an analysis on tenders which were not qualified and submit the analysis record to the top management for information.
To be aware about his/her position related rules, regulations, codes, and standards and act accordingly.
AUTHORITY
Review and advise QHSE on the amendments required related with the commercial procedure/formats/checklists.
Access to IMS manual and all related documents.
Report all unsafe acts and unsafe conditions if observed timely to the superior and QHSE personnel.
To stop an activity which may endanger the safety, affect the environment, and negatively affect the reputation of company in consultation with the concerned personnel.
