Physiotherapist - DOH

Job Summary:

Providing comprehensive Physical Therapy services with compassion and care for every patient we serve. To deliver the highest global standard of care to our patients in the comfort of their home.

To provide highly specialized physiotherapy and perform duties and assessments for complex neurological and orthopaedic patients, from adult and paediatric populations as defined by the Department of Health/Health Authority Abu Dhabi (DOH/HAAD), Scope of Practice.

Key Role Accountabilities:

Provides physical therapy care to patients according to a written physician’s plan of care. This may include, but will not be limited to:

• Assesses and evaluates therapeutic/functional status and participates in the development of the total plan of care.
• Assesses muscle strength, mobility, gait, etc. to select the appropriate physical therapy technique.
• Initiates the physical therapy program, this may include facilitation of normal movement, therapeutic handling, gait re-education, etc.
• Teaches and advises patients and families/caregivers on the use, phases, and care of therapeutic appliances as well as the goals of the physical therapy program of the patient by participating in case conferences.
• To review and evaluate patient’s condition at each physiotherapy session and to amend the treatment programme as necessary to achieve planned objectives.
• Reports to the patient’s physician regularly on the patient’s response to treatment or changes in conditions.
• Prepares and submits clinical and progress summaries based on the attainment of goals to ensure a consistent approach to patient care, whilst promoting understanding of the aims of physiotherapy.
• To work with members of the multi-disciplinary team, to ensure optimal outcomes for the patient.
• Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
• Adheres to dress code; appearance is professional, neat, and clean.
• Always maintains patient confidentiality. Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.
• Is responsible to maintain up to date clinical knowledge and self-directed ongoing education.
• Complies with all organizational policies.

Essential:

• Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy.
• Graduate from an accredited Diploma in Physiotherapy, (NLT 3 years syllabus).
• Must have a DOH/HAAD Physiotherapist License.
• Must have a valid UAE Driver’s License.

Preferred:

• Master of Sciences in related field (will reduce 1 year from the required years of experience)

Experience:

Essential:

• 1-2 years post graduate experience as a Physiotherapist in a hospital in relevant experience in handling patients with the same diagnosis seen in acute care hospital or Rehab Facilities.Wide background is preferred (i.e., ICU, acute medical/surgical, paediatrics).

Preferred:

• Community/home health experience.
