Female Hair Dresser (European Only)

Job Summary

In this role as” Hair Dresser “ you are responsible to create flawless haircuts/hairstyles and using modern colouring techniques for our clients. You will be cutting hair using basic and advanced techniques, consulting clients about suitable styles, colouring and applying hair care products, i.e. treatment oils and masks etc. You need to be up to date with styling trends.

Ultimately, you will ensure all clients leave our centre satisfied with our services and feel happy with their new look whether haircut, hair style or colour service.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, carryout an initial consultation to understand what they are looking for and advise client on what would be best according to the their personal style and preference
• Recommend hairstyles and haircuts according to customers’ face shapes and hair texture, keeping in mind their personal taste
• Encourage clients to take better care of their hair with hair products from the brands that are known for good quality, which can help the colour and style last longer
• Cut, trim and shave hair (as requested by client) using professional equipment
• Apply a wide range of hair colouring techniques, like highlights, ombre and balayage (ensure you test for allergies by doing a patch test in advance)
• Apply hair treatment products, as needed (e.g. colour protection creams and hydrating masks)
• Applying hot towel treatments
• Form bonds with loyal customers and remember their hairstyle preferences
• Ensure tidiness of work stations and sanitising tools and equipment
• Cross-sell hair care products or services, when appropriate
• Continuously learning and perfecting new styles and techniques

Requirements

• Proven 2-3 work experience as a Hair Stylist, Hairdresser, Colourist or similar role
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification preferable
• Have the ability to assess the needs of their clients
• Proficiency in hair straightening and curling methods, using hot irons and curlers
• Hands-on experience with various colouring techniques
• Knowledge of a wide range of haircuts, suitable for all hair lengths (e.g. braids and top knots)
• Familiarity with hair treatment products and services, like keratin smoothing/ L’oreal Hair Care
• Natural hairstylists, who work on ethnic hair without processing and relaxing chemicals
• Up-to-date with market trends
• Excellent communication skills
• Physical stamina to stand for long hours
• Flexibility to work in shifts and under pressure
• Valid license and certificate from a cosmetology school
