Position Summary The AV Technician role would be responsible to: operate and maintain the college auditorium control rooms during events; provide A/V and Multi-Media support for staff and students, recommend state-of-the-art technologies to enhance control room operations and AV technologies; programming of various control and automation systems like AMX, Crestron and Extron; undertake preventative maintenance of the classroom AV technology, digital signage, boardroom AV system and auditorium control room system by keeping them in good working order; undertake preventative maintenance of college audio-visual systems and college plasma/LCD system and keep them in good working order; assist with the production of educational and promotional audio-video materials etc. Requirements Bachelor degree in electronics, engineering or closely related discipline, preferably encompassing operational knowledge of the following: Setting-up, configuring and maintaining control rooms in production studios, TV stations or auditoriums. Multi-media formats and conversions principles. Audio/Video and projection principles. At least three years’ experience in the following areas Set-up, configuration and operation of TV / auditorium control rooms. Usage and operations of projection and audio systems. Demonstrated skill in management and maintenance cycles for AV equipment Programming of various control & automation systems - AMX, Crestron & Extron Designing and upgrading of acoustics, lighting and display units Experience in digitizing and editing video and audio clips using tools like Final Cut Pro, Avid, Audacity, Soundtrack, Adobe premiere or others Preferred working experience using Macintosh and Windows platforms
