Wintel Consultant

One of our clients, a global IT consulting firm is looking for aWintel Consultantto be based in Abu Dhabi.UAE experienced candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains complex IT Infrastructure Services according to defined SLAs.
• Single Point of contact for all escalated MI (Major Incidents) & Technical solutions.
• Provide deliberate analysis and prompt Root Cause Analysis for all major issues.
• Installing and configuration of windows servers in Physical and virtual.
• Managing windows File, Print, DNS, DHCP and NAS file shares.
• Applying operating system Updates, Patches, and Configuration changes.
• Applies independently the knowledge from area of expertise in accordance with the business resolution.
• Identifies potential risks in area of expertise and proposes respective solutions for risk mitigation.
• Participating in the IT Out-of-Hours On-Call support rotation following the company s incident response and escalation policy.
• Maintaining the Uptime of critical services physical and virtual servers above 99.5% consistently.
• Troubleshooting any reported problems such as performance issue, OS , driver issues etc
• Awareness Knowledge on Storage, Networking, Firewall and backup Applications/devices
• Performance and/or network trace analysis for Servers
• Strong Knowledge about user administration and File system management activities.
• Handle L2 technical escalations
• Must be ready to work on tickets, Nightshifts and Weekends based on the requirement.
• Manage the vendor and follow the escalation matrix.
• Proactive and clear communication skills
• Quality and Process Knowledge
• Show an understanding of Information Security best practices.
• Participate in the IT Change Management process, where required.
• Participating in projects and transitions of new services.

Requirements

Technical

• 12+ years of cross platform experience in designing, installing, configuring, and managing Enterprise Systems.
• Must have a vast experience on the Wintel operations including day to day customer interactions and handling of issues.
• Strong knowledge on any of the public cloud and 2 years experience is a must.
• Must have a good experience on the project implementations / Participations including Project plan and driving it end to end.
• Experience in Terminal servers (Admin mode), Windows Clustering,
• Provide Tier 3 support for windows core system and collaborative with Active Directory, Messaging and Virtualization team .
• Experience in OS Hardening, performance and OS tuning.
• Responsible for essential systems in the company branches worldwide, ensuring that the Critical systems issues are resolved before user impact.
• Solid understanding of processes and controls related to financial applications, networking, Infrastructure security, Storage systems and databases.
• Proven skills in managing teams to work in sync with the corporate set parameters & motivating them for achieving business and individual goals. An effective communicator with excellent relationship building & interpersonal skills. Strong analytical, problem solving & organizational abilities. Possess a flexible & detail-oriented attitude.
