Responsible for planning preventive & breakdown maintenance, machinery and equipment and ensuring the
timely completion of all work carried out high standards of workmanship, reliability, efficiency, and safety.
2 Design maintenance strategies, procedures and methods.
3 Plan and schedule planned and unplanned work.
4 Plan, direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged directly in maintenance work.
5 Plan, direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged planning and scheduling maintenance.
6 Write maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines.
7 Schedule work in line with agreed priorities.
8 Continuously seek ways and means of improving department performance.
9 Develop and install clerical and office procedures and practices.
10 Apply statistical methods to estimate future maintenance requirements.
11 Recommend replacement of unreliable equipment.
12 Maintain close control of performance, efficiency and operating costs.
13 Ensure that accurate records of break down and preventive maintenance work are always available.
14 Report on departmental activities in an agreed format and a timely manner.
15 Arrange specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components.
16 Investigate problems and breakdowns and ensure that repairs correct the problem not the symptoms.
17 Maintain the workshops in a clean, organized and safe manner at all times.
18 Control maintenance tools and equipment.
19 Ensure that section staff performance is of the highest standards at all times.
20 Ensure that section staff follows company policies and procedures and their job description.
21 Troubleshoot spares available problems with engineering store and take corrective action.
22 Ensure adequate stocks of essential spares are available in stores.
23 Liaise and cooperate with all client departments.
24 Liaise with production, maintenance and engineering stores controller planned maintenance process.
25 Be available to attend emergencies outside normal working hours.
26 Train and develop subordinates in accordance with company policies and procedures.
27 Ensure that non-maintenance staffs are trained in maintenance support activities.
28 Work effectively with the multi-cultural workforce.
29 Read specialist journals and attend training courses and industry meetings to keep up to date.
30 Carry out similar or related works as directed by his direct superior.
Requirements
Qualifications Bachelor in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
