Ø In most cases, policies, decisions and other important matters are decided at the higher levels; therefore, it is the duty of the sales supervisor to make sure that such decisions or policies are implemented by the sales team. Ø When senior managers discover a problem, such as a salesperson not meeting targets or adhering to sales policies, sales process and procedures, they don’t confront such a person directly, the supervisor will be notified and mandated to address such problems. Solving this kind of problem could involve him taking disciplinary action like issuing a warning to the salesperson. Ø Solving problems relating to sales results oftentimes involve the supervisor going the extra mile to offer assistance and help the salesperson do better. Ø The sales supervisor is usually involved in empowering and motivating his team. Ø Sales supervisor may organize regular sales meetings or try to develop a high level of product confidence in his team. Ø Supervises coordinates and maintain the daily activities of the food services sales representatives mentioned in the sales process. Ø Engaged in promoting and selling a product in person. Ø Recommends changes to current sales techniques or procedures based on team performance and new selling techniques. Ø Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Ø Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Ø Performs a variety of tasks in the sales process’s activities. Ø Leads and directs the work of sales representatives in his/her unit. Ø A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Ø Typically submit weekly monthly reports to his direct manager. Ø Responsible for all client and personnel communications, conflict resolution and compliance on client services and deliverables Ø Focus on additional sales where possible Ø Approves change orders and invoices, and is responsible for collections Ø Maintain and develop relationships with clients in person, and via telephone calls and email; performs customers satisfaction surveys if needed. Ø Handle customer complaints, questions and issues. Ø Coach, train staff on new products, counsel, interview and discipline employees. Ø Evaluate on-the-job performance of the sales team. Ø Identify future and current trends that appeal to consumers. Ø Ensure merchandise listing displayed and achieved properly, compliant with food services clients’ signed agreements Ø Follow up clients’ financial statements and supervise the collection and ageing ratios. Ø Ensure promotions are in with company’s standards. Ø Utilize IT for data analysis, to record sales figures and forward planning. Ø Monitor local competitors. Ø Preside over staff meetings. Ø Record sales and order issues to overcome and solve with senior management; Ø Follow inventory, check and assess the stock situation and work on reducing waste. Ø Keep up with fluctuating demand and supply. Ø Participate in placing orders on frequent meetings with purchasing department; Ø Participates in management’s weekly and monthly meetings, Ø Participates in identifying performance indicators, sales targets and goals to sales team; Ø Staying updated about the market survey Ø Provide technical assistance and product education to the sales team Ø Periodically visits with the sales representatives on its own area to clients Ø Develop organize and supervise the scheduled routing for the sales representatives Ø Handle customer issues complaints and resolutions Ø Represent the organization at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations Ø Respect and perform any task assigned by the manager not mentioned in the job description related to the sales process’ activities, contribute to improving the work.
