- Significant domain knowledge and knowledge of products, systems and applicable regulatory requirements in assigned portfolio (e. g. avionics products). May be considered a domain specialist or a generalist in multiple domains and/or systems area of expertise.
- Serve as a systems architect or as the lead systems engineer to capture, analyze, decompose, translate and create requirements for systems of moderate to high complexity.
- Develop functional, interface and performance specifications for hardware and software implementation. Identify and document architecturally significant requirements and technical risk areas.
- Lead technical proposal preparation and serve as the subject matter expert in non-advocate, internal and customer reviews. Support elaboration of systems activities development plans in the context of a team and with program execution, including customization of systems development processes. Lead and/or participate in DAR and SysNAR's
- Serve as the test lead in integration, verification and validation for products and subsystems of moderate to high complexity.
- Estimate, track, manage and report status relating to technical, cost, schedule, and risk performance for assigned scope of work which may span across multiple projects. Decisions may have major impact on cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Serve in a design quality role (systems) helping to ensure that project planning is accomplished to the appropriate level of fidelity and that development teams are following appropriate processes.
