- To be responsible for patient assessments, development of treatment planning, quality physiotherapy intervention and evaluation of patients progress & outcome.
- Coordinate and participate in implementation and evaluation of patient care programs within a specialized area through the utilization of selected physical therapy procedures.
- To be responsible for regular reassessment of patients and to modify treatment programs as appropriate.
- Participate in clinics, conferences, consultations and educational programs designed to improve patient care.
- Maintain records and files reflecting patient progress, treatment plans, and related statistical data as required by the department.
- Maintain established department policies and procedures, objective, quality assurance
- programs, safety environment and infection control standards.
- Any other duties which may be required from time to time by the chief physiotherapist or Medical Doctor.
- Participate in department meetings, committees.
- To maintain own continuing professional development (CPD) by being an active member of the physiotherapy departmental in-service training program and journal club. Attending internal and external training sessions, workshops, seminars, courses and conferences.
- To demonstrate compliance with departmental policies & procedures and the Center policies.
- To participate in working parties to develop the quality of the service and to promote high standards of patient care.
- To attend and contribute to physiotherapy team meetings ensuring effective
- communication across the service.
- To maintain accurate and up to date documentation in line with legal department and organizational requirements.
- To be prepared to work in an unpredictable and at time highly stressful environment with patients who may become extremely unwell.
- The therapist should expect to be exposed at times to fluids, extremes of heat and cold, potentially threatening situations.
- Take reasonable care for the health and safety of colleagues and environment that may be affected by the employee’s acts or omissions at the workplace.
- Notify team leader or department head of any hazards, mishaps or incidents within or outside their area of work.
- Ensure any staff(s) does not enter area without appropriate work permits and PPE.
