Responsibilities A Neurology technician starts his diagnostic procedure by explaining the procedure to the patient, measuring the patient and marking areas of the body to place electrodes. He prepares monitoring equipment and then, using sterile adhesives, places electrodes on a patient’s body. He also operates the equipment and monitors the patient’s neurological activities. The process of monitoring patients can last from about 20 minutes to more than eight hours, depending on the type of tests required. After the procedure is complete, Neurology technicians prepare reports for physicians to review.
