Job Description

- Installing or replacing electrical equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, fuses, relays, or other components of an electrical system
- Troubleshooting malfunctioning electrical equipment to identify problems and ensure that repairs are done correctly
- Maintaining electrical equipment such as transformers, switches, circuit breakers, fuses, wiring, and cables
- Installing conduits and wiring equipment in new construction projects such as hospitals and schools
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment in a substation or industrial facility
- Working with designers and architects to plan the layout of electrical systems within a structure
- Testing electrical equipment to ensure that it is functioning properly
- Installing light fixtures, outlets, security cameras, and other electrical fixtures in homes or businesses
- Working with contractors and engineers during construction projects to ensure that the electrical system meets building codes and is functional
