It all began in their modest apartment in Northwest Baltimore in the spring of 2014. Alan Goode, a born entrepreneur, and his wife, Rina, an experienced speech-language pathologist (SLP), began exploring their bold idea of providing online speech therapy services. The idea was fresh, exciting, and the telepractice industry was relatively new. By the end of the summer, their company, Global Teletherapy, was born. Alan and Rina’s vision was simple yet profound. They envisioned a world where anyone could have access to top quality, state-of-the-art therapy services regardless of geographic constraints. From this vision evolved their mission to alleviate the painful consequences of the national therapist shortage, particularly acute in rural areas, by providing schools with top quality therapists at an affordable cost regardless of location. Global Teletherapy began with Speech-Language Pathology, added Occupational Therapy, and eventually, Mental Health Therapies, School Counseling Services, and Assessments. Since its inception, the company’s growth has been nothing short of meteoric. Global Teletherapy is now recognized in the expanding teletherapy industry as a leading staffing service providing K-12 schools with online therapists. The number of schools and students are growing unabated.
