1982 Our Executive Chairman and Group Managing Director, Tan Sri A K Nathan's experience in the construction industry can be traced back to 1982 when he undertook his first project, the Dayabumi Building in Kuala Lumpur. 1983 Eversendai commenced its operations in 1983 as a structural steel erection company in Malaysia and is now a full-fledged matured, dynamic and well-established structural steel turnkey contractor, civil contractor and a specialist power plant contractor with an impeccable International track record. Eversendai has carved a name for itself as an industry leader in the structural steel design, fabrication and erection of steelwork for high rise buildings, heavy industrial plants, stadiums, steel bridges, roof structures, infrastructure projects and installation of mechanical and electrical works for power plants and industrial plants. 1986 During that year, Tan Sri A K Nathan worked on the erection of structural steel work for Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional's car plant in Shah Alam, Malaysia. This was followed by various projects in Malaysia including the foundation laying and tower erection of the transmission line for Kenyir Dam to Tanah Merah and the fabrication and erection of structural steel work for the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Power Station Phase II in 1986. 1988 In 1988, Tan Sri A K Nathan ventured into Singapore after securing the contract for the fabrication and erection of structural steel work for the Singapore Indoor Stadium. This was followed by other projects in Singapore such as the Pulau Seraya Power Station Stage II, the Amphitheatre for the Jurong Bird Park and the 66-storey Republic Plaza. 1996 In 1996, our Group entered the Middle East market when our subsidiary, Eversendai Engineering LLC (Dubai) was awarded the contract to erect the steel structure for the sail-silhouetted Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai. It was once the world's tallest hotel at 321 metres. Since then, our Group has undertaken many key landmark projects in the Middle East especially in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. In Dubai, our subsidiary Eversendai Engineering LLC was part of the construction team for various iconic buildings such as the Emirates Towers, Ski Dubai, Rose Rayhaan Rotana Tower, Dubai Mall and Dubai Festival City. 1997 In 1997, our Group set-up a full-fledged engineering department to enhance our value proposition to our clients. In the same year, our Group was awarded its first major design and construction project for the Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station in Malaysia. At present, a majority of our designing and draughting services are carried out by Eversendai Construction Pvt Ltd, our subsidiary in Chennai, India. 03-08 In 2003, we set up Sendang Project Management Sdn. Bhd and subsequently changed our name to Eversendai Corporation Sdn. Bhd. On 13 April 2010, we were converted into a public limited company and assumed our current name, Eversendai Corporation Berhad. In line with our Group's expansion plan, we acquired our first steel fabrication factory in Al Qusais, Dubai in 2003. In 2004, our Group commenced the construction of a new fabrication plant at the Hamriyah Free Zone, Sharjah in UAE, followed by another steel fabrication factory at Doha, Qatar in 2006. In 2008, Eversendai Corporation Berhad commenced the construction of its fourth fabrication plant at the Rawang Integrated Industrial Park, Malaysia. Present Most recently, Eversendai ventured into the Oil & Gas market and immediately established the company as a highly capable and skilled fabricator of choice for complex Oil & Gas projects. Eversendai Offshore recently opened a brand new dedicated waterfront Oil & Gas fabrication facility in RAK Maritime City, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE and has seen rapid expansion in this area since its inception.
