About Easa Husain Al-Yousifi

It was with profound sadness that management and staff learned of the death of their founder and chairman, Easa Husain Al-Yousifi, in August 2003. Born in 1930, Easa Husain Al-Yousifi grew to adulthood at a time when there were no cars, radios, or electricity in Kuwait. Ambitious and determined, after a few years of basic schooling, he went to night school to learn English. He established a small shop in the old Merchant’s Souk in Sharq in 1955 to sell household goods. To differentiate himself from the other merchants, Easa Husain Al-Yousifi always gave his customers his personal attention. When TVs first arrived in Kuwait, he would often go to homes and adjust the antennas himself to ensure the reception was the best possible. As his company grew, he made his employees part of an ever-expanding family, sharing his success with them. He encouraged ideas on how to improve business, knowing that without them complete customer satisfaction would never be possible. Though his showrooms in Kuwait have been visited by everyone at one time or another, Easa Husain Al-Yousifi is best remembered locally for his innumerable charitable works. His door was always open and his staff have fond memories of the kindness and affection he showed to everyone who worked for him. The employees of Easa Husain Al-Yousifi & Sons Company are proud to have been a part of the life of this great man, whose legacy lives on in the diversified trading and contracting corporation he developed from that one little shop in Sharq.
