Black & Grey HR is recruiting for one of the leading developers in Abu Dhabi, They are looking to hire a Tunnels Design Manager who will lead and managesthe effective design and delivery of tunnel projects, while ensuring that the design process is completed on time, to budget and to the highest standards of The Design Manager must be able to identify areas of improvement in the design process, stay up to date with industry developments and new technologies, and provide guidance and support to the design
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Leading and coordinating the development of tunnel designs and plans, including drawings and calculations;
- Coordinating with the project team, including engineers, master planners, architects, and other consultants, to ensure the design meets the project requirements;
- Manage full design cycle and technical delivery of Tunnels from concept design till as-built stage;
- Ensure Consultant s Design meets clients requirements;
- Review and comment on Contractor s design for construction works;
- Optimization of tunnel options meeting design to budget targets;
- Provide technical assistance to the Delivery Team as needed in terms of value engineering, time planning ;
- Provide input for tendering and contract award for the tunnelling works;
- Ensure compliance with cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets;
- Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
- Ensuring the quality and accuracy of the design, including reviews of drawings, calculations, and other technical documents;
- Preparation and input to RFPs and relevant scope of work;
- Managing the design process, ensuring the project is completed on time and on budget;
- Overseeing the selection and implementation of appropriate technologies and materials;
- Managing the safety of the project, ensuring all safety regulations are followed;
- Preparing and presenting project progress reports;
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders as required;
- Liaising with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services;
- Reviewing design and delivery progress and coordinating adjustments as needed;
- Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with the agreed scope and budget; and
- Comply with regulations and ISO requirements
Requirements
- BSc or Masters in Civil/Geotechnical Structural Engineering;
- Minimum of 15 years working experience on design and construction projects with 5 years dedicated to Cut and Cover Tunnels Design and Construction in the UAE/GCC
- Technical knowledge in civil engineering and related fields, such as geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, and environmental engineering;
- Proven working experience on various sorts of Tunnel projects for design delivery, management, supervision and construction;
- Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations and standards;;
- Experience in multi-disciplinary coordination on tunnel projects;
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Knowledge of construction methods and materials; and
- Working knowledge of ADQCC codes and
