Monitor the performance of suppliers and products, arrange regular visits and meeting to ensure that they meet the required standards.
Maintain up-to-date lists of suppliers and pricing to ensure that the company achieves the most beneficial commercial terms.
Negotiate the purchase of materials and equipment required by the company, ensuring that these meet specifications and can be delivered at the correct time at the most beneficial prices.
Monitor purchase orders to ensure that these are delivered on time with the required quantities, and the quality.
Maintain an awareness of quantities of stocks of materials and equipment to ensure that shortages are avoided.
Coordinate purchasing arrangements with different departments and functions to ensure that they are taking advantage of the most favorable terms with the required standards.
Coordinating with engineering department for new required material, equipment, services for the new products and new projects or replacement items to ensure the purchasing are met with the any new, modified requirements
Report any significant supply problems to ensure that departments and functions are kept aware of any potential difficulties.
Equivalent to a degree in business administration or engineering.
At least 5 years’ experience in a central purchasing function.
